Great Day SA Features SpaceTEAMS and Northwest Vista College

Great Day SA, a morning news show in San Antonio, TX, had a short spot about this summers SpaceTEAMS Robotics Summer Camp. Mr. Jimmie Bruce, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Northwest Vista College, and Mr. Andrew Schuetze, director of the Texas Institute of Educational Robotics, and two students from the Edgewood Independent School Districts answered questions and demonstrated some of the robots in their inventory.

This is the third year for SpaceTEAMS summer and is the first year that is being staffed full time with a director. The camp has opportunities for students in elementary school, middle school and high school. New this year is the addition of a three week teacher training program to assist educators with integrating robotics in the classroom and building the cadre of potential summer camp instructors!

Students in all three levels will learn about robotics and opportunities in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math fields. The middle school and high school students will also learn how robots are programed using a graphical programming language and a version of the C programming language. It's a fast and furious two week program ending with competitions for each camp.
